A bit of history...

It was in the 1960s that the family swimming pool really made an appearance in France. Until then, a dip in an artificial pond was the appanage of the public community structures. Only a minority of privileged people had the high financial means to be able to afford this luxury object. They applied to rare experts of the era when reinforced concrete ruled! The private swimming pools of those days were too big, pointlessly deep, badly equipped and particularly expensive…

These days...

In the years that followed, the arrival of manufactured structures with liner favoured the democratisation of the swimming pool; the terrains are smaller and the size of the basins reduced. The trend was for crystal clear water; the appearance of new automatic equipment freed users from many maintenance constraints. Demand exploded. France consolidated its place as leader in Europe. Opportunists were everywhere; everybody wanted to sell swimming pools! For 4 to 6 weeks of the year, the hypermarkets were filled with aquatic equipment of all types, rarely the same from one year to the next... At the end of the summer season, it’s too bad for the shopper who can’t find his brands anymore; “The season’s over, now it’s time for the back-to-school supplies!”.
